Fractional CMO Services

Senior marketing leadership without a full-time hire. I build the strategy, lead the work, and turn siloed marketing into one system built for growth.

When a fractional CMO makes sense

  • You're building marketing for the first time

You're a startup or new venture that needs a real strategy before spending on tactics.

  • Your team is small, or you don't have one

Marketing is handled by founders, sales, or one generalist, without senior direction.

  • Your team grew faster than your strategy

You have people and activity, but no one is setting priorities, connecting the work, or tying it to business goals.

What a fractional CMO does

A fractional CMO is a senior marketing leader who works with your business part-time or for a defined engagement. You get executive-level strategy, direction, and accountability without the cost of a full-time hire. I set the plan, connect marketing to sales and business goals, and lead execution with your team, vendors, or agencies.

What's included

Discovery and research

Interviews with your leadership, sales, and marketing teams, a review of your existing materials and data, and a research foundation built on how your buyers actually decide.

Strategy and messaging

A core narrative every team works from, with messaging adapted for each audience and role on the buying committee.

Marketing plan and roadmap

Priorities tied to business goals, a clear job for every channel, and budget scenarios so you can choose how fast to grow.

Leadership and execution

I lead your team, vendors, and agencies, align marketing with sales, and keep execution focused on what matters most.

Systems and operations

Your CRM, marketing automation, and processes set up to support the plan, so the work is repeatable, not one-off.

Measurement

KPIs tied to business outcomes, a scorecard for each program, and regular check-ins to adjust based on results.

Every engagement starts with discovery

Before I recommend anything, I learn your business. Discovery is part of every engagement, because the right path forward depends on what's actually happening inside your company.

  1. Conversations

I talk with your leadership, sales, and marketing teams to understand goals, gaps, and how decisions get made.

  2. Review

I go through your existing marketing, materials, data, and tools.

  3. Findings

I share a clear picture of what's working, what's disconnected, and where the opportunities are, before any recommendations.

  4. Strategy

We build the plan from there. Your strategy is typically complete in three to four weeks.

The first 90 days

Every engagement starts with a three-month minimum, built around a clear path from strategy to results.

  1. Days 1–30: Strategy

Discovery, findings, and a complete strategy: narrative, messaging, priorities, and the plan your teams will run.

  2. Days 31–60: Implementation

We put the plan to work: channels, content, systems, and the rhythm between marketing, sales, and your partners.

  3. Days 61–90: Results

Early results come in and we measure them against the goals set in discovery, then adjust what's next.

After 90 days, you can hand the system off to your team or keep me on to lead it.

Two ways to work together

Defined engagement

A set scope and timeline, starting with the 90-day path. We complete discovery, build your strategy, launch the system, and hand it off to your team with everything they need to run it.

Ongoing leadership

A monthly retainer after the first 90 days. I stay on as your marketing leader, guiding execution, managing priorities, measuring results, and adjusting as your business grows.

What you walk away with

  • A core narrative and messaging framework
  • A marketing plan and roadmap tied to business goals
  • Clear roles for every channel
  • A measurement framework and scorecards
  • An operating rhythm for your team, vendors, and agencies

Questions

What does a fractional CMO do?

A fractional CMO is a senior marketing leader who works with your business part-time or for a defined engagement. I set the plan, connect marketing to sales and business goals, and lead execution with your team, vendors, or agencies.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Yes. Every engagement starts with three months: 30 days for strategy, 60 days to implement, and 90 days to start seeing and measuring results. After that, you can continue with ongoing leadership or hand the system off to your team.

How much does a fractional CMO cost?

Investment depends on scope and whether you choose a defined engagement or ongoing leadership. After a discovery call, I'll share a proposal with the total investment.

Can you work with our existing agency or freelancers?

Yes. I often lead and coordinate outside partners so their work fits the strategy instead of running separately.

What if we already have a marketing leader?

Then strategic support may be a better fit. I partner with CMOs and VPs of Marketing on the strategy, messaging, content, and ABM work their team doesn't have capacity to lead.

When will we see results?

Results start coming in during the third month, and we measure them against goals agreed on in discovery. Early wins usually come from clarity: a shared message, focused priorities, and sales using what marketing builds.

Explore strategic support

Let's start with discovery.

A discovery call is a conversation about your business, your goals, and whether a fractional CMO is the right fit.
